After serving
in the US Military where he trained and worked as a heavy equipment
and diesel technician before being honorably discharged, Willie
returned home to the United States and enrolled in Fairmont State
University. Willie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology
and Recreation Science Administration while completing his studies
in just under 3 years when he successfully graduated.
Willie serves
as Vice President of Green Tech Ventures, where he hopes to help
further stimulate the "Green Economy" with Green Tech
Ventures business model through innovative technology that will
create green careers, green jobs and green entrepreneurs.
Green Tech
Ventures was founded in 2006 by Willie's longtime friend and business
partner Donald Thornton. In
2009 Green Tech Ventures California Inc. was established with
Willie serving as President and CEO.
The goals
and mission of Green Tech Ventures is to foster the wellbeing
of disadvantaged communities by helping to increase neighbor vitality,
introduce green technology, educate consumers and create green
entrepreneurs, strengthen small business, create jobs and job
training programs while encouraging diversity.
In his professional
career, Willie's talents have carried him into various fields
of personal development training. He has worked with The City
of Canton, Ohio, Stark Technical College, Stark County Board of
Education, Canton Ohio YMCA, Trans Western Institute of Technology
Bi Plex Corporation and the New Los Angeles Automotive Training
Corporation as the Assistant Director where he successfully negotiated
over 250 Automotive industry partnerships.
Willie's passion
to work with at-risk youth led him to start Hoops R Us Inc.
Hoops R Us is a non profit California Sports Marketing company
specializing in youth basketball programs designed to assist youth
in maintaining a balance between sports, education, social and
business skills.
Willie is
also a certified Basketball official and a member of the National
Association of Sport Officials (NASO), National Coaches Association,
and serves as a Gift to the World and Beyond Shelter Board of
Directors and serves as an advisor to two non profit organizations,
Partnership for Change and The Urban Social Network.
He has been
featured in magazines such as Forbes, People, KTLA's Morning Show,
CBS Special Workplace America, and several local and national
training publications focusing on education and training.
Willie's hobbies
are collecting model cars, restoring classic muscle cars and researching,
advocating and teaching green technology.
